These terms apply when you use this website (nickgoesglobal.com). Please read them together with the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy and the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
Who runs this website
This website is run by Nick Maddock, a travel creator based in the United States, under the name Nick Maddock Global. My group trips are also called Global Narratives trips. You can reach me at hello@nickmaddockglobal.com.
My group trips in Syria are operated on the ground by SyrianGuides, a licensed Syrian tour company, with licensed local guides. I host the group and help shape the route.
Information on this website
Everything on this website, including text, photos, videos, maps, itineraries and prices, is provided in good faith and for general information. I work to keep it correct, but I make no promise that it is complete, current or free of mistakes. Nothing on this website is legal, financial, medical or official travel advice.
Trips and bookings
- The deposit is what books your spot. Sending a form does not book a trip and does not cost anything. Your spot is held once your $750 deposit has been received, as long as there is still room on the trip. If the trip is already full, your deposit is sent back in full.
- Details can change. Itineraries, hotels, group sizes, dates and prices shown here can change until your booking is confirmed. After that, routes and timings can still change for safety, weather, closures or other local reasons.
- Events are not guaranteed. Street events, festivals and visits that depend on other people are enjoyed when they are held.
- Deposits, payments and refunds follow the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
Travel risk and your responsibilities
All travel carries risk. Many governments, including the United States, currently advise their citizens against travel to Syria. You are responsible for deciding whether a trip is right for you. Before you book and before you travel, you are responsible for:
- reading your own government's current travel advice for Syria
- holding a valid passport and meeting visa and entry rules (I help with the visa process, but approval is decided by the authorities)
- checking what your own travel and health insurance covers, since many policies do not cover Syria
- your own health, medication and fitness for the trip
- following local laws and the instructions of the guides during the trip
