Cancellation & Refund Policy
Booking and payment policy for group trips.
At Global Narratives, we believe booking a trip should feel clear, fair, and stress-free. Our booking policy is designed to balance flexibility for travelers with the real logistics required to operate trips responsibly on the ground.
Please read the details below so you know exactly how deposits, payments, and cancellations work.
Updated October 7, 2026. This version applies to bookings made on or after that date.
Booking and deposit
To reserve your spot on a Global Narratives trip, a flat $750 deposit is required at the time of booking.
This deposit allows us to immediately begin arranging key elements of your experience, including:
- Hotels and accommodations
- Transportation and drivers
- Local guides
- Permits and advance logistics
Your spot is officially confirmed once the deposit is received.
The deposit is 100% refundable for 48 hours after you pay it. After 48 hours, the deposit is non-refundable.
Paying the rest
The rest of the trip price is due 30 days before the trip starts. You are welcome to pay it earlier.
If you book less than 30 days before the trip starts, the full price is due when you book.
Cancellation and refunds
- Within 48 hours of paying your deposit: you get your deposit back in full.
- After 48 hours: the deposit is non-refundable.
- More than 30 days before the trip starts: anything you have paid on top of the deposit is refunded if you cancel.
- 30 days or less before the trip starts: no refunds.
We encourage travelers to book only when they feel reasonably confident in their plans, as preparations begin shortly after confirmation.
If Global Narratives must cancel
In the unlikely event that Global Narratives must cancel your trip due to safety concerns, site closures, or unforeseen local circumstances, you will receive a 100% full refund of all payments made, including the deposit. This is a determination that will be made by our partners at SyrianGuides or by the Syrian Government.
